Muftiat of Moscow and the Public chamber of RF for the first time jointly held in the capital a gala dinner - Iftar, during which Russian politicians, deputies, human rights activists, government and public figures, representatives of traditional religions and foreign ambassadors congratulated Muslims on the upcoming end of the fasting month of Ramadan and the onset of holiday Uraza-bayram (on July 28).
Festive reception was held last night at a restaurant of eastern cuisine on Frunzensky embankment. As recalled in his speech, chief of the department for cooperation with religious organizations of governance of the president of RF on domestic policy Evgeny Eremin, Islam came to Russia in the VII century - a little later on the Arabian Peninsula and has a rich tradition in our country.
"I would like to wish our Muslim brothers on these last days of fast, when Almighty very carefully looks at people - that he heard your prayers, that those works and good deeds that you have done in this holy month, came to him and were rightly judged," - said Eremin.
The scale event was also visited by the first deputy mufti of Tatarstan Rustam hazrat Batrov. In his speech during the event Rustam hazrat told the guests about the activities of the MRB RT and also noted the role of personality of Albir hazrat Krganov for Muslim ummah of Russia.
"I would like to say a few words about the man who brought us together today at this table. Albir hazrat Krganov is known far outside Moscow. He is very much respected in the Republic of Tatarstan. We thank him for the fact that he supports a number of projects initiated by MRB RT. In particular, with the active assistance of Albir hazrat Krganov was created social advertisement within large-scale campaign "Ramadan - the month of good deeds." He is known and respected in other regions of our country. Therefore it is not surprising that of the Muslim community of Russia it was he who was delegated to the Public chamber of RF. We hope that the Lord will give him strength so that he could continue to serve our Ummah and multinational people of Russia", - noted in his speech the first deputy mufti of Tatarstan.
Among those who attended the event were also a member of the presidential Council on human rights Nikolai Svanidze, representatives of different departments of the Moscow mayor's office and of other regions of RF, ambassador of Iran in RF Mehdi Sanai and ambassador of Syria in Russia Riyad Haddad, vice president of the Congress of jewish religious communities and organizations of RF Zinovy Kogan and the head of press service for the chief rabbi of Russia Andrei Glotser.
Ramadan for followers of Islam - the holy month of fasting, prayer and pious activities, when during daylight hours Muslims abstain from food, drink and entertainment. Is allowed to eat before sunrise or after sunset. This year the end of Ramadan and the feast of Fitr - Eid al-Fitr (Uraza Bayram) falls on July 28.
